We all sin...so what?

”For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.“

‭‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Yes we all sin! We often use this verse to excuse certain sins as small or to say yeah I sin but I don't sin, sin. We use it as a measuring stick to support fallen Pastors and Leaders. We use it to avoid accountability. In Romans 3 Paul does highlight the brutal death Jesus endured was to make us right with God in spite of our sin. (Romans 3:24) I don't believe Jesus died on the cross for us to continue sinning and living in the same unhealthy patterns year after year, decade after decade. The laws of Moses were written to keep us safe and protect us from the consequences of sins. It also allows us to see how sinful we are and hopefully inspire change in us.

In the very last verse of Romans 3 Paul writes. ”Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law.“

Faith is required for us to fulfill Gods law!

”And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.“

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

You might be saying Shay I have faith but I can't stop sinning. My question to you is what is the level of your faith? Is it faith that only believes God can give you material blessings or do you have turn the other cheek faith. Does it sound foolish to allow someone to slap you and then let them slap you again heck yes! Trust me I get it! I got knuck if you buck in my spirit too. However faith says God said it, I believe good will come of my foolish obedience.

Ask God to show you the area of your life he wants to see changed. Use your Bible to discover what His Word says about that area of your life and get a friend to hold you accountable. Change will come!
